A better day but a poorly van :-/

Took the bike to RLR Today, had a good chat with Rick. Pretty sure hes the man for the job and he looks like he has a lot on at the minute too.
Meanwhile back at base Stan has been doing the jobs at the shop and then he finished off the old 600 ready for sale.
I'm going to get that on Facebook and ebay this weekend.
We have recently started doing MOTS at the shop and although Feb has been steady work wise we have have set a PB for Mots for a calendar month.
Hopefully as the bikes come out March should be double numbers on February too.
I've sold my beautiful pushbike today, really sorry to see it go but all funds available are going into getting these bikes sorted.

On the way back from RLR i had a stone Hit Sharifs windscreen and thats chipped and cracked it so now i'm another £150 down next week for that! Not a good week on the van front!
Talking about Vans Gaz has had a look at mine its at a point now that looking at a new engine as the most feasible, but on a van that has an iffy gearbox, needs 2 driveshafts, 2 tyres etc plus cambelt, labour etc on a second hand engine i could be looking at a 2k bill.
This weekend i'm going have to decide whether to get a new one on the drip or get the old girl done, shes a
Got 160k on her now so its hard to decide whether to keep her going or not.
A newer one might be a better option for now as i dont have 2k to splash out.

Heres a few more pics of the superbike i took when it arrived.
Shes in a few more pieces now, i'll put some pics up next week of the trick yokes etc.

I had to remachine our forkspring tool to fit the head bearing nut, i just managed to resist a punch and hammer!
All i have had done is the internals swopped over from the old bike to the new bike and vice versa, quite a big job for Ktech though and serviced at the same time, thanks guys.

Not the day i had planned

Up at 6.30 this morning for interval training with my younger (But not smaller) brother Joe.
Radcliffe on Trent village has a Cliff face with appx 50 staggered steps from bottom to top.
The idea is to Sprint up at 100% and walk back down. My record was 10 a few years ago when i was in Superstock and i'm progressing by 1 a week atm, 7 this morning and very close to vomiting!
Joe my Bro is a big lad, great footballer and hes also in training for his first amateur boxing fight in 5 weeks time, hes training like a trooper and doing himself proud, its nice to have somebody to train with regularly.
So today i was hoping to get collect my forks back from K Tech sometime this morning from Jason Evans jnternational man of mystery and part time accountant!
He'd been kind enough to collect them for me on his travels but then went Awol.
Soon enough i got hold of him and arranged to meet him to collect at 3.30.
I set off on time, Pink floyd on full blast, except pink floyd today was accompanied by the vans own beat, Mother fuck shes knocking her nuts off, i ,managed to nurse her back to work and my buddy Gaz has had her straight in, sounds serious though, sounds little end knock to me but we'll no more tomorrow. An unplanned expense :-/
So I jump in Stans (part time mechanic whom i employ) awesome trusty Civic and shoot over a little late, got the forks, got back for 4.30, Stan built the old bike back up and i built the forks back into the new bike so shes ready to go to RLR in the morning. Had my lad aswell tonight 6 year old Evan so my trusty Mum picked me up from work and then we got the boy from school club. Love my Mum :-)
Sharif at Vale Fabrications has been kind enough to lend me his van tomorrow to RLR cheers buddy.

I have also had the forks, yokes and the front wheel out of the Superbike for the first time today, apparantley the yokes are off an ex British Moto gp procject, they are very nice machined from billet magnesium and light to.
I've taken them out to get my head around how the offset inserts work, i think i can run it either forwards or backwards of centre but not central. I think i could machine a centrally located pivot setup myself so this would give me 3 different settings.
I'll chat to a few more people first to make sure i understand it properly.

Since i've had the Superbike engine top end stripped down and measured up i've been pestering Mark Fisher of G&S racing to come and have a look over with his experienced eye. I rode for Mark in a couple of Superstock rounds last year and he runs a great team with his son and 2 other riders. Check them Out.
Mark came down today and has shared his thoughts and gave me some sound advice on where to go with the new engine. Thanks Mark.

Excited for RLR Tomorrow! Pics to follow from today.

Kawasaki 600 So far

Must remember where the pit lane limiter wires go! -#30 second penalty 😒

Waiting

Been a busy day with huge parts lists for both bikes, i've started using Excel this year and its made me so much more organised in being able to plan spending when and where. I think i have sourced the best prices on most parts now.
Big purchase day on the Horizon 😀
Also had another chat with Ricky @ RLR motorsport i'm delivering the new 600 there this friday for him to do his stuff. I cant wait to go and chat about making things go Fast!

Pictures of the superbike engine build

The plan is to strip the superbike we have just brought and transfer all the parts over to a Brand new bike which we will be buying from Bikers Kawasaki on a deferred payment scheme.
I have measured up the engine top end my self and will be preparing the new engine myself with technical support from great people like Nick Morgan @ MSS and Alan and Mark Of Road and Race where the bike was purchased from.

So, Wednesday @ work, its quiet but there is plenty to do.
I`m awaiting a call from Ktech suspension to notify me when the Kawasaki ZX6 Forks are ready, luckily My accountant Jason Evans is Ktechs accountant too so hes going to act as courier and save me a trip!
The fork Internals are being swopped over into the Brand new forks and vice versa.
Once i have them back the old bike will be up and running and ready to sell.
Hi all, i have never "blogged" in my life but it seems like a lot of people are interested into what goes into running as a Privateer at the Isle of Man TT. So it starts here....
